IDP participates in the successful R&I in Europe 2017

Last 2nd and 3rd of March, IDP participated in the 8th Networking Successful R&I in Europe 2017 European event, organised by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia European Research, Innovation and Science Policies y ZENIT – Zentrum für Innovation und Technik in Nordrhein-Westfalen at the Van der Valk Airporthotel in Düsseldorf (Germany).

It has counted with the assistance of over 300 participants from all across Europe, where they have been able to show their capabilities and know how as well as their needs regarding future joint projects in 2017 and 2018, in addition to results and follow-up of European research projects under the Horizon 2020 and LIFE+ programmes. The event had a clear focus on the Networking by companies participating in projects funded by the EU to improve their competitiveness and to boost their success rate in their respective future projects.

Mikel Borras Morrison, R+D Deputy Project Manager in the IDP Group has shown the latest breakthroughs of the European project INTERMODEL EU, under the Horizon 2020 Mobility for Growth call (MG-8.4-2015) which aims to develop a methodology and ICT tools to allow an advanced simulation of railway intermodal logistics terminals models. This aims to improve tasks related with the design, construction, maintenance and operation phases.

The project, funded by the EU under the Horizon 2020 work programme with a total budget of 3M€ in a 3 year period, is coordinated by IDP and counts with the participation of world-renowned companies, research centres and universities from Spain, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Italy and Denmark. This time, IDP participates as project coordinator, leading the work package for the definition and design of terminals with BIM methodology, integrating the simulation of operational processes and their effects on the surrounding infrastructures.
