Third Global Meeting

On the 12nd– 14th of March 2018 the Third Global Meeting of the Project on the Simulation using Building Information Modeling Methodology of Multimodal, Multipurpose and Multiproduct Freight Railway Terminals Infrastructures (INTERMODEL EU) took place in Spain. The meeting was held in Campus Nord, UPC in Barcelona.

On the first day of the meeting, status of individual works was discussed within each work package (WP). Each leader of the WP during a presentation discussed their tasks, progress in implementation, risk and opportunities as well as goals for the next 6 months and expectations from other partners. At the end of presentations, there was a time for a discussion.

On the second day, a workshop was organized in Montserrat, which is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat about one hour north west from Barcelona by train. The workshops were focused on following topics:- integrated multimodal terminal planning,- challenges found and necessary actions,- dissemination and exploitation,- case studies and scenarios.

Participants, after intensive work, also found a moment to admire the Spanish nature, visit and walk Santa Cova and less formal conversations that helped to integrate the team.

The last day of the 3rd Global Meeting took place again in Barcelona (Campus Nord UPC).

Main objectives for that day were:

– Financial and technical progress report preparation,

– next steps

– Decision for the next meeting;

– Project risk update.

Next 4th Global Meeting will take place in September in Italy.
